all things come to an end

Dear Friends,

I started writing this blog in August of 2016.

At the time, devon and I were teaching secular mindfulness in hospitals and clinics and schools. At the time, I was a phd candidate in counseling psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. At the time I had more hair and less time to actually sit down and meditate.

A lot has happened since August of 2016. On a personal level, we wrote a book. We transitioned to being dharma teachers. We disappeared into retreat for the better part of four years.

On a societal level . . . well, who can write a coherent sentence about what's happened in the world in the past seven years?

It's been a pleasure posting through all the ups and downs. Thank you for reading.

And now it's time to put this blog to bed for a while and focus on other things.

Like writing a second book. And doing more meditation retreat. (yes, even more.) And teaching.

But do not fear, devon and I are posting microblogs on Instagram about once a week. (You can check that out here.)

And we're currently reshaping our newsletter into more of a blog format, so that subscribers will get an update on our developing thoughts at the beginning of each month. (You can subscribe here.)

Finally, we're teaching quite a bit.

Devon is mostly focusing on residential retreats at Spirit Rock, Insight Meditation Society, and other centers. And I'm teaching an online daylong the second Saturday of every month with friends like Devin Berry, Judson Brewer, Rhonda Magee, Gina LaRoche, Tuere Sala, and others. (You can check out our teaching schedule here.)

Thanks again for the good times we've had here in this pixelated world.

looking forward to seeing you soon,
nico
