Parenting is where mindfulness practice gets real.

In this two-hour workshop, we'll offer support and meditation practice for new and experienced parents, including guided practice, conversation, and Q&A.

Teachings will be for beginning and seasoned meditators alike. All are welcome.

Devon Hase loves long retreats and has completed several years of retreat practice in the Insight and Vajrayana traditions. She found meditation at age 20 while living in France. Since then, she’s put meditation and community at the center of her life—she spent a decade bringing mindfulness to high school and community college classrooms and now teaches at the Insight Meditation Society, Spirit Rock, and throughout North America and Europe. She loves supporting practitioners with personal mentoring, and her friendly, conversational approach centers relational practice, the natural world, and translating Buddhism into Western culture. Along with her life partner Nico, Devon coauthored their first book, How Not to Be a Hot Mess: A Survival Guide for Modern Life. She now spends a good part of the time in wilderness retreat and semi-retreat in Oregon, Massachusetts, and elsewhere. For more, visit devonandnicohase.com.

Cara Lai spent most of her life trying to figure out how to be happy, or at least avoid total misery, which landed her on a meditation cushion for the majority of her adulthood. She's explored the wild beauty of the human experience through many adventures in consciousness-- including a few mind-bendingly long meditation retreats, chronic illness, and the profound experience of motherhood. In the past, Cara has worked as an artist, wilderness guide, social worker and psychotherapist, but at this point she’s given up on being an adult in exchange for an all-out mindfulness rampage. Her teaching is relatable, authentic, funny and sometimes crass, and is accessible for many people. She teaches teens and adults at Inward Bound Mindfulness Education, Spirit Rock, Insight Meditation Society, Ten Percent Happier, and UCLA; ultimately hoping to be able to bend spoons with her mind. And to help people be happier.

Jessica Morey is a meditation teacher, coach and new mother. She currently serves as the Head Teacher and Organizational Systems Architect of Ten Percent Happier. She has been practicing meditation for 3 decades. She began her practice on teen retreats at the Insight Meditation Society. She brings a sense of playfulness and care to her teaching and is focused on how we can bring our meditation practice off the cushion into our relationships and our work. She holds a vision of a world where the well-being of every human and non-human is considered in the decisions that we make individually and collectively. Jess studied engineering and worked in clean energy finance before founding Inward Bound Mindfulness Education, a nonprofit organization bringing in-depth mindfulness and compassion training to youth.
