Practicing Dependent Origination:
A 6-week Online Class with nico hase

Tuesdays, November 5 to December 10
5pm to 6:30pm, pacific time
online via Zoom

Two thousand six hundred years ago the Buddha made a radical promise: you can be free of suffering. Not just a little free, but totally free. He then outlined a path for the gradual elimination of mental and emotional agitation, culminating in a final breakthrough into nibbana, the unconditioned.

But how do we actually do it? Now. Today. In our contemporary lives, with their unique challenges and opportunities.

We need to understand dependent origination. Intellectually, yes, but also experientially.

In this hands-on 6-week course, we will begin by understanding basic conditionality—the simple but profound fact that every moment of experience arises based on conditions. We'll unpack the Four Noble Truths as the quintessential expression of this fundamental principle. And we'll delve into the twelve links of dependent origination, a map of the Buddha's insight on the night that he attained final awakening. Finally, we'll talk about the relationship between conditioned experience and the unconditioned, and how we can use the former to attain the latter.

Our time together be as experiential as possible, with optional meditation assignments you can try on for yourself each week.

This 6-week class will be held on consecutive Tuesdays: November 5, 12, 19, 26 and December 3 & 10. All lectures will be recorded, and it is no problem if you need to miss a class or two along the way.
